2020 Sign-ups are available throrugh February 28 at Jay and Mary's
Book Center in Troy Ohio.

2. Is a physical required?
No, a physical is not required.

3. What ages are allowed to join?
Boys and girls who are 5-15 years old before May 1st of the current season are allowed to
join.

4. How much does is cost?
T-Ball cost is $80. J-Ball, Minor and Major are $100. Teener is $100. Families with
more than 2 children will cap out at $240 - (*the cap out does NOT
include Teener).

Payment must be
accompanied with form(s).
PLEASE NOTE: Any registrations received after February 11th will be
charged a $25 late fee. The late fee excludes Teener.

5. Which league will my child belong to?
T-Ball
(5-6 yr. olds); J-Ball
(7-8 yr. olds); Minor
(9-10 yr. olds); Major
(11-12 yr. olds); Teener
(13-15 yr. olds)

6. How
old do you have to be, to be an Umpire?
You have to be at least 11
years old or older (includes adults) to be an Umpire for TJB. Training through TJB will be required.

page. Umpires are paid per game on a weekly basis (or when Umpire
Coordinator states otherwise).

7. When
will I know what team my child is on?
Coaches
will be contacted by TJB League Representatives before March drafts, which start the
first week of the March.
Parents will be contacted by
coaches soon after the drafts. Coaches are to contact parents no
later than thethird week of March.

8. Do I have to purchase a uniform or equipment?
No, you do not need to purchase a
uniform. A
team shirt, a pair of baseball pants, a pair of socks,
and a matching team hat are included in the cost of registration fees. Boys in J-Ball, Minor, Major, and Teener are required to wear a protective
cup.

TJB will provide the coaches with team helmets and catchers gear for the season to
share. However, players are allowed to purchase and bring their own helmets and bats, as long as they
meet the league requirements. Please see

requirements.

9. Can I request a specific team?
Sponsors with a child
playing baseball will be placed on same team, otherwise, specific teams
cannot be requested.
T-Ball players will be grouped by school or geographic location as best as
possible. J-Ball, Minor, and Major are "blind" drafted.
Teener is an "open" draft.
Siblings in the same league will be placed on the same team, unless
specified to place on different teams. Please note sibling(s) name(s) on registration forms
to help league reps during drafts.

10. Who can become a coach?
Anyone 18 years or older.
There is a
Background Check Form that must be completed and approved before someone can become a
coach.
The top part of the form must be filled out and
then signed at the bottom.

fill it out and mail it to: TJB,
PO Box 892, Troy, OH 45373.
Please, DO NOT take the
form to the Troy Police
Dept. or Miami County Sheriff's Dept., TJB will take care of this for you.
In order to become
a volunteer coach, we require a copy of a photo I.D. with your background check form.
Adults will be denied coaching status if they fail to provide a copy of
their I.D.. and fail to provide a
signed background check form. Background checks must pass in order
to be allowed to
coach.

11. How can I sponsor a team?
There are three ways you can sponsor a team:
-Baseball Team Sponsor - $300
-Sign Sponsor
- (Initial) - $500
-Baseball
Field Sponsor - (Initial) - $1,000

How can I become a Board Member?
If you would like to be a TJB Board Member, you
are
welcome to join. You may attend a meeting or let a
current
TJB Board Member
know that you're interested and they can give you more information.

13. How long
does the season last?
Most
team practices typically begin in mid to late March (pending coach).
Opening day is the fourth Saturday in Aprilt, 9am (start). The
season usually goes to the end of June, pending make-up games and
tournaments. However, if the season must be
extended due to make-ups, the guaranteed season end is July 12 (excluding
All-Star games).
The Teener League will begin around
mid-May and end around mid-July.
